About the Therapist
Stephanie Fu Ballance, MS, LCMHC, NCC
My name is Stephanie Fu Ballance. I earned a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2016. I was previously a high school English teacher before being inspired by my students to go back to school for mental health counseling and therapy. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and offer my therapeutic services in both languages.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LCMHC #12503). I have had experience in community mental health working with kids and adolescents ages 5-18 as well as families and adults working through life stress, relationship issues, and trauma. I have worked with clients in individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.
My approach to therapy is based in empathy and compassion. I listen to each client’s story, experience, and individual therapeutic goals. I work with clients processing past and present relationships in one’s life in order to enrich and improve current relationships and bonds. I incorporate several evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, EMDR, eco-systemic family therapy, and attachment based therapy as well as integrating art therapy and mindfulness.
I love all things traveling and learning about different cultures, cuddling puppies, and cooking pasta!
